to go camping solo in the Colorado wilderness (within the bounds of a campground) when the ranger you spoke to on the phone suggested that you make sure to be aware of the wildlife this time of year (including moose, prong-horns, elk and BEARS).
I'm thinking it'd be ok...

nah, just bring a whistle.
Wear bells on yer bag.
it sure is! its generally a food issue. contain your food properly...(no food inside your tent) Wash your pans very good. Food goes high in a tree. Dont spook them. If your going through an area that has bears..make noise as you go. Yell crap out loud. bells may work. Clip something to your pack.
Got it.
Roll around in chocolate candy wrappers in the sleeping bag before I go to sleep.
If I happen to see a bear i should sneak up on it quietly and then jump on its back before yelling loudly, flailing my arms and running into the arboreal ether.
10-4.
Backpacker recommends Butterfinger wrappers. Twix works fine too, but also attracts Elk, Falcons and sloths. When crossing a stream, have the bear jump on your back and help him across. I think your getting the hang of it. God luck son.
